WELCOME TO STEVEN ROSE'S SPORTSCARD TRADING PAGE!
(updated 11/25/2023)
Thanks for checking out my sports cards page!
Please click on the different sports listed at the top of the home page to see my WANT LISTS. As far as cards that I have to trade, I basically have over 1/2 a million baseball cards from the '50's through 2000, with the majority of them from 1970-1990, another 100,000 or so football cards from the late '50's through 1990, and a smattering of basketball cards (including a couple hundred 1969 and 1970 tall boys that I bought off my brother for $5 back in 1980).
Please don't hesitate to reach out to me at [email protected] if you'd like to buy, sell or trade!
Thanks,
Steve
MY TRADING APPROACH
Please pay close attention to the minimum required condition for each particular set for a given year. I may need only Vg-Ex cards for one set while requiring NM for another. Thanks.
(Asterisks "**" "*gm" or other symbols after a card number or card condition indicates I'm supposed to receive that card in a trade shortly so please do NOT include these in a possible trade).
My standard practice is to trade based on Beckett book values, taking condition into account of course. For example, standard Beckett book percentages for 1960-1980 cards are 100% for NM, 50% for Ex-Mt, 30% for Ex, 20% for Vg-Ex and 15% for Vg, with an additional 40% discount for cards which are off-center ("OC") for their grades. I think you'll find that if you look at sold prices for PSA graded cards with and without an OC qualifier, the discount will range from 30% - 50% or more.
And as a general rule, I trade modern era cards for modern cards, and vintage era cards for vintage cards. Trading vintage cards for cards from the junk wax era is a losing proposition! I hope you understand.
Values shown next to each card are Beckett HI book values - typically for NM cards from 1960-1980, Nm-Mt cards from 1981-on. Lesser condition cards should be multiplied by the applicable condition percentages. Please note that some of the pricing shown may be relatively old and needing update.
